Are Laser Bore Sights Useless

Marv's Palmetto AK's sights disagree quite a bit with his laser bore sighter.

Last time I used one, the hits on the paper weren't even close to where the dot landed.

What are your experiences?

    Pretty good for a 25 yard starting point.
    And that is just to get the hole on the paper.
    Other than that, not so much.
    Laser's go in a straight line and don't follow a bullets trajectory.
