Ankle Deep

Picked up some firewood and today was the same as a week ago.

This despite the legalization of open carry in Florida.

Blood is not running in the streets.

People are not having running gunfights over minor traffic altercations.

Dogs and cats are living together.

Almost as if ALL of the naysayers were wrong.

Again.

  1. No doubt Florida Man's experience with open carry will be as uneventful as Texas. All the LEOs and libtards cried about how it would be the "wild west" but it has been a big nothing burger. It has been the same story as in every other state where it has been allowed.

Here in Texas there has never been a law banning open carry of long guns (including ARs and AKs, etc), and back up until theft from vehicles became a big problem in the 1980s and 1990s it was common to see. Gun racks in the back window of pickup trucks was pretty universal in rural areas and not uncommon in the cities. But between then up until a few years ago it wasn't seen often and a lot of people assumed it had been banned when it wasn't. Even a lot of LEOs were poorly trained on this and you'd hear of occasional cases where people's rights were violated. One positive thing about the law change here allowing open carry of handguns has been that basically all LEOs have been educated about open carry of long guns too, and more or less from what I've heard they'll generally just tell hysterical hopolophobes who make calls about "man with gun" that unless they're doing something provocative they aren't going to bother to show up.

  2. I live in Alaska and open carry has been legal since….well I can’t remember a time it wasn’t legal! Very few people open carry in town-except for some tourists! Out of town is another story.
