The Walther Model 2 in .25 ACP might be one of the deadliest handguns ever made.
Vasily Blokhin murdered a lot of Polish prisoners with one.
Muzzle range to the back of the skull.
I'd say max damage to the brain. So 6 delivered, -2 for skull DR, 4 penetrates, x4 for hit location... 16.
That's not enough to kill someone with one shot!
There's no rules for it, but the base of the skull might be one of those bypass the skull DR locations like hitting the eyes are. I'd allow it.
That'd up the damage delivered to 6 and the location would make it 24 which IS enough to kill the average person with one shot.
The 16 will do it too, with the bleeding rules they will be making death rolls in four minutes. Not like the NKVD is doing first aid before they toss them into the truck.
This kinda GURPS.
I am informed that the Mob, when doing hits, usually uses a .22 fired into the back of the head. And that covert agencies also use it for wet work. While I am a fan of big calibers, small calibers definitely have their place.
ReplyDeleteThe .25ACP has lots of bodies on it from being used as self-defense and self-attack since it was first introduced. Mock it as weak and powerless, but used against normal people not on drugs or not Sumo-wrestler sized and the little bastid in FMJ will whack someone. Maybe takes a couple shots but it will kill.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Mob also used the .25ACP to shoot people in the back of the head.
A shot low in the back of the skull will take out the brain stem and the inner brain, which is either an instant kill or death in minutes only. Very deadly shot.
A lot of the victims at the Katyn Wood were evidently buried while they were not quite dead; dirt in lungs and such like. Let's face it, if the designated victim is going to be covered with six feet of earth by a bulldozer a Taser would be as deadly as a pistol.
