21 Years Old

GURPS 4e is now old enough to drink.

Happy birthday to my favorite RPG.

4e has been the newest edition of GURPS for more than half its existence.

  1. It's weird that sometimes 21 years ago doesn't seem that long ago and sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago.

GURPS unfortunately seems to be more or less abandoned by SJG or maybe even SJG seems to be more or less atrophied to nothing. The paper RPG market is of course not what it was in general but it seems like SJG has never been as good at marketing as some of their competitors.

I'm not sure how actively SJG is really in business. If you drive by their physical offices in Austin there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity there. I'm sure most of their production is contracted out to others (their complaints about tarrifs wouls support that) and a lot of their people probably work remotely. But I am not sure how big a company they really are any more.
