How are you supposed to tell a threat from someone going about their life?
Gonna answer your question with a question.
Are they being threatening or going about their life?
If they are going about their life, then you're fine. This will be 99.99999999999999999999999% of the gun owners you see open carrying.
Even if they are carrying at you. Which isn't actually being threatening with a gun, it's just being really blatant and obvious that they ARE carrying a gun. Technically they aren't going about their lives, they're carrying a gun openly as the only thing they are doing. Ignore them. They're attention seeking and don't feed the trolls.
A threat will be pointing the gun at people. Probably followed by shooting the gun at people.
A decent rule of thumb for the people who are scared of open carry is, "if you wouldn't freak if a cop was carrying like that, then you shouldn't freak if a citizen is carrying like that."

first off, probably a libtard female...second, like you mentioned, people that open carry usually are looking for attention...why advertise your ability to defend yourself or possibly become the first target of an active shooter...panzer guy...
ReplyDeleteMy main support of open carry is because: A: it's a right, even if it's not the most tactically sound idea, so the government can't tell me no. B. The government's interface with my conceal carry and accidental exposure was a subjective standard based on how the officer/deputy/department/chief/sheriff felt about carry at all.
DeleteAllowing open carry means Officer Asshole has to grin and bear it if the wind exposes my gun briefly.
Open carry has been a gigantic nothingburger every place that it's been restored. Even the people carrying at people give up after a bit when they realize that nobody (well, hardly anyone) really cares.
The hyperventilating twat is in for quite a shock when the inevitable "Flag Goes Up" comes around. She'll be begging for someone with a gun to protect her from the roving hordes of Obama voters.
ReplyDeleteI don't open carry, precisely because I don't want any would-be perps to know that I'm armed. I AM glad that we have open carry as the law in FL now, just in case I accidentally expose my gun in a public setting.
