The knife provides enough length for a lever. Over the last, say ten years I have noticed a preponderance of P38s of just barely 3/4" L. Doable but kinda defeats the practicality. I suspect that with cold fingers it might be too much a challenge. That's when I'd stab the can with a fixed blade.
ReplyDeleteThere's a bigger version of the P-38 with a bigger "paddle" for more leverage, the P-51.
DeleteThe,Swiss Army knife can opener is more efficient than the opener on a Boy Scout knife or Leatherman tool. I rarely open cans away from home so it's more proof of concept than regular tool. The Ekco Miracle Roll is the better mouse trap if you have space
