Just For Fun

Having a can opener on your Swiss army knife and USING the can opener on your Swiss army knife are different things.

It still kind of surprises me how fast and easy the knife's opener is.

  1. The knife provides enough length for a lever. Over the last, say ten years I have noticed a preponderance of P38s of just barely 3/4" L. Doable but kinda defeats the practicality. I suspect that with cold fingers it might be too much a challenge. That's when I'd stab the can with a fixed blade.

    1. There's a bigger version of the P-38 with a bigger "paddle" for more leverage, the P-51.

  2. The,Swiss Army knife can opener is more efficient than the opener on a Boy Scout knife or Leatherman tool. I rarely open cans away from home so it's more proof of concept than regular tool. The Ekco Miracle Roll is the better mouse trap if you have space

  3. I use the Swiss Army can opener at least once a week - cause its always in my pocket
