Keeping Up To Date

The M16A4 normally has a vertical grip.

I don't care for it, but...

It's not clone correct, but I'm OK with a representative example of the breed.

It's interesting to me that three companies still make the M5 RAS and none of them sell them to the unwashed public.

  1. I'm not a big fan of that style of vertical foregrip either. I don't have them on most of my rifles and if I have any kind of foregrip I generally prefer the shorter angled ones. Sometimes those can be nice when handguards are less than comfortable due to rail and mounting spots being rough. Plus they often also offer a little insulation from a hot metal handguard. But one of the big things about the AR platform is it is super flexible and changing out something like a foregrip is trivial, so to each their own on that kind of accessory.
