The massive tax cut represented by increasing the homestead exemption will NOT make renting a house more expensive.
Cutting taxes on home owners doesn't increase the taxes on rental properties. Those remain the same as before.
In fact, there's language slowing down the rate they can increase the taxes on non-homestead properties from 10% to 5%.
That will help renters, not hurt them.
