Shadow, it would seem, likes scotch.
I'd finished my drink and she dipped her paw into my glass and licked her paw clean.
Then she returned for three more dips.
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask is very tasty, so I cannot fault her.
I'm just surprised that she likes it!
Do not let it become a habit, from what I have read, cats and dogs do not process alcohol well.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I can vouch for parrots drinking wine and getting drunk, only to decide to go on the wagon immediately after. True story, we always had parrots while I was a kid, would open their cage and let them fly about the house. On one occasion, dad was drinking Cabernet and the parrot landed next to the glass out of curiosity. Dad tipped it and the bird took a good beakfull slug. Within a minute it was drunk walking over the table, most unstable gait. Dad laughed his ass off at that. Next day another dinner wine drink and parrot came back to table, dad tilted the glass again so the bird could partake. Bird looked at the glass with one eye, then looked at dad with the other and started laughing with the exact tone dad carried off the night before. Bird never touched another wine glass going forward.

DeleteI don't normally let the kitties get at the booze. This is a surprising one off.
Scotch I'm surprised a cat likes it. Most cats will immediately recoil from hard liquor. However, I've had more than one cat who liked beer, or at least beer foam. On in particular would dive right in and lap up the head off a freshly poured beer like it was whipped cream.

Yup. Our bird is a wino. Loves coffee too. When the time is right she perches on the lip of the wine glass, snags a couple glugs. If scared, she flies off in a panic, tipping over the wine glass. Cheaper to share peacefully.
