Just as every bit of matter is a chemical...
If you're not eating it raw, it's been processed.
Cooking is a process.
Harvesting is a process.
Butchering is a process.
Motor oil is organic, by the way. All hydrocarbons are organic molecules.
All domesticated food sources are genetically modified. Some by injecting genes and splicing, some by the old fashioned method of selective breeding.
This has been your linguistic science fact diatribe of the day!
Except Velveeta. Velveeta is the result of dark, evil satanic magic and has no relation to anything of this earth.
ReplyDeleteVelveeta, like American cheese, is "cheese food." It's what cheese eats.
DeleteAnd 'organic' means it's made of molecules containing Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen.
ReplyDeleteBenzene is an organic chemical. As are all petrochemicals, nerve agents, viruses, bacteria, sharp poky sticks made of plant matter, bludgeoning sticks made of plant matter.
When I took organic chemistry (early 1970s) they defined it as just containing carbon: C not COHN. Like Benzene is organic but it's C6H6.
ReplyDeleteBe that as it may, the thing that always makes me twitch is when people talk about "chemicals in our food." Your food is all chemicals. Everything is chemicals. You're just afraid of words with more than two syllables.
And my definition of "cheese food" is "cheese-like substance."
