Crap

If you're in the market for a bolt carrier, don't get the AR Stoner offering from Midway.

It's improperly finished and rough.

Likewise, DPMS seems to have forgotten how to make bolt cam pins.

I have the stuff to fix them, but they're supposed to be drop in parts.

    I'm not sure how comfortable you'd be offering advice to a complete stranger, but this post kind of raises a question I've had for a while. I'm considering building an AR15 and am comfortable with my technical ability to assemble the parts, but I have no idea whose parts are reliable. One of the great joys of the internet is the abundance of information, but it can be a curse too when there's no way to sort the wheat from the chaff. Is there a good, non-contradictory, unbiased source for that kind of information?

    AR-Stoner is good for magazines they are the Midway house brand and could be from anywhere. DPMS is spotty, but ubiquitous. Bravo Company, Spikes, Stag, Del-Ton, Aero-Precision and J&T have not failed me so far.

    I tried to save some pennies and got burned.
