CAFE Dead?

This article is interesting.

It's also giving examples of why you cannot simply tax or fine businesses and expect those costs to not be passed on to to consumer.

Corporations do not pay taxes, the people that buy their stuff do.  They just don't pay them directly.

Anything that makes something more expensive to make will make it more expensive to buy.

ANYthing.

Pay attention here Unions.

I've long held that regulation and union labor are the two driving factors that shoved so much manufacturing offshore from the US.

Reducing the CAFE fine to $0.00 should either dramatically reduce the price of cars or increase the profits of the car makers.  If either happens, or a bit of both, then I think I've been vindicated.
