1902 – Willis Carrier creates the first air conditioner in Buffalo, New York. This should be a national holiday.

    Ah, St. Willis of Carrier. Yes, it should be a holiday, more important than Juneteenth.

    Infinitely more important than Juneteef. A technological civilization couldn't survive around here without St. Willis' invention - as well as the other experts who contributed knowledge.

    I've said many times that Willis Carrier's birthday should be a national holiday. But does anyone listen?
    (He opened up half the country to modern industrialization and prosperity. If that doesn't merit a holiday, what does?)
