The Tantal was originally equipped with a tritium insert in the rear sight and a clip on front sight with a tritium capsule in it.
The sheet metal part clips over the back of the front sight with the wire spring arcing up to and around the front sight post.
The housing for the tritium slides along the wire spring and slips over the front sight post.
When there's enough light to see the normal post you lift up the housing off the post and slide it down the spring's rails.
One thing that's really cool about this system is it's the first tritium sight set for any ComBlock rifle I've seen that can be zeroed. Not only that, it's zeroed by zeroing the rifle normally.
Sight picture is, as is predictable, not great; but how far can you see in the dark unassisted anyway?
Now all I have to do is find some appropriately sized tritium vials and replace the old, dead ones.
