A long while back I learned to touch-type.
I've noticed that it's a little frustrating changing from one machine to another around here because the keyboards are different.
I've been using Derpyputer for most things lately and I need to really pay attention to get the password right on Crispy because of the small differences in key spacing and action.
Am I the only one who has to make the adjustment?
It's not just you. I've found that full size "standard" keyboards are similar enough to not worry, but laptops and specialty keyboards make me type out passwords one letter at a time.

Yeah, there are different keyboard sizes. Most laptops have slightly smaller sizes, just smaller enough to mess you up.
ReplyDeleteYou can find laptops with 'full sized' keyboards. Usually requires at least a 17" screen.
As to the location bumps mentioned by Daosus, I've had Royal manual typewriters with the location keys at J and F. So...
