At one time this rifle was so advanced it was a military secret. It was nearly obsoleted a mere two years later when the not-Mauser Gew.88 was introduced.

I passed one up 'way back in '94 when I first started working in gun stores...I haven't seen another reasonably-priced, non-bubba'ed one in the wild since then.
