Your Democracy, Representative, is the gravest threat to our Republic.

The Constitution mentions democracy not at all. In fact there isn't even a work that starts with "demo" in the thing.
Article IV, Section 4, however:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.This is also the single use of the word Republican in the whole document.
We're not guaranteed democracy.
If you bother to read the notes the people who drafted The Constitution left behind you'll note they were terrified of the idea of pure democracy, for many reasons.

ReplyDeleteDemocracy is basically 2 wolves and 1 sheep voting on dinner, whereas the constitutional republic the sheep is armed. pure democracy is mob rule where the emotions of the majority can enslave and destroy the minority.

DeleteI think you need to check your Democrat to English / English to Democrat phrase book, to wit: "Our Democracy" has nothing to do with voting and such, it means (Cue Mel Brooks voice.) "we've got to save our phoney-baloney jobs!!!"
