Ruger Day

Today is 10/22 with an extra 22 on the end.

So I am reusing an old picture of Harvey's 10/22 with an extra 22!

You DO have a Ruger .22 of some sort, don't you?

I think it's mandatory.

  4. I do have one .22 Ruger... an A100 frame Standard (sometimes people call these a Mark I, but that's not the official designation). The only other two Rugers I have are a Mini-14 I've had for decades and a Security Six .357 Mag revolver.

  5. Man, I wish I would have purchased a stainless 10/22 Mannlicher way back when. Green laminated stock as you picture above.

  6. Hi Angus!!,
Yup, Got 2 of 'em!!! A standard "wood stock" 10/22 and a MK-2 with a 6" barrel and stock sights... Love 'em both!!!! 'Love all the "Add-On's" for the 10/22 ...e.g. 25 and 32 round mags from Ruger, Butler Creek and Pro mag!!! 'Bought 'em all before the political regime changes and the prices went thru the roof... even if ya' could find 'em!!!
'Just a stock MK-2 6" barrel stock sights!! A sweet shooter! Remember when"RITZ" crackers had that pix of the big RITZ cracker on he back of the box?? I got a few... put them on the copier and make prints... contact cement spray them to a piece of card board and instant targets!!! Send them down the trolly to the back wall (60') at my local Bass pro range!!! 2 mags, 20 rounds "Inside the cracker!!" Don't even have to try hard!!!!!!!!
AND!! Did I say it's a sweet shooter??? JAM???? What's that... I tried... Ran a 550 round box of Fed 22LR and most of another box just to see if I could get it dirty enough to jam?? Didn't happen so I went ahead and broke out the Hoppe's #9 and did the drill!!!
Like the 10/22 so much I gave one to my step son (Retired 22 yr Marine) for his B'Day!! He has a Remington Fieldmaster .22 with the tubular mag. it's ok but more of a hassle than the pug in mags!! Oh! He was definitely all smiles when he got the 10/22!!!

  7. The Oz government decided that my 10/22 had somehow magically been transformed into an EVIL MURDERING WEAPON by the actions of some whacko on the other side of the country, and demanded that I sell it to them.

Naturally, I took the money and bought a perfectly legal Ruger Charger, which is simply a 10/22 with a pistol grip and a shorter barrel.

    That counts, right?

  8. Nope, no Ruger in my bunker.
    I do want a 10/22 though. That's what I grew up shooting.
