On That Science Funding

Remember back before the Big Tobacco lawsuit when any research that showed that smoking didn't instantly give you cancer and/or kill you dead right there it was invalid because the tobacco companies paid for it?

Yet research funded by government is somehow not biased in favor of government?

This is why I continually harp that The IPCC is The InterGOVERNMENTAL Panel on Climate Change.

It's why I notice that none of the so-called solutions to catastrophic anthropogenic global climate change are in any way inimical to government but surely are to individual freedom and liberty.

  1. Because private corporations have no need for climatologists....hell I don't even know why we even bother with meteorologists, just roll a D-20, you have better odds on that being right for if you should pack an umbrella. Climate Models? There isn't a slack-jaw'd greenhorn drunk bookie in Vegas that will cover a bet against those guys.

But hey, if the Climatologists make the studies read the way .gov wants them to read they suddenly go from Paupers to getting paid (almost) as much as Engineers!

We all know people who have sacrificed their morals and scruples for money, why would they think scientists are beyond that?
