Debugging

The oven has been repaired.

An actual, no shit, BUG between the contacts on the selector switch.

  1. You didn't tape it into your journal and post a picture of it?

  2. Well, I did tell you to burnish the contacts, but then, aside from Grace Hopper, you are probably only the second person on the planet that can attribute an electrical failure to and actual "bug". Enjoy the attaboys for a job well done, and cheap too (if one does not measure curses and sweat).

    1. It was the intent to burnish the contacts that led to the disassembly of the switch.

  3. Hardware bug!

Fyi, Terrapod, Google "crazy ants" not sure if they have figured out why, but the little fuckers love current and will sneak into electronics and short them out.

    1. Our bug was a cockroach.

We had a plague of roaches a few years back thanks to the Welfare Crack-House next door being gutted and fumigated. They didn't even look back wistfully at their "home" country as the invaded my house.

Happily, we were able to get effective insecticides and killed them all.

The bug that got the contact died inside the switch assembly and just recently fell down to block the contacts.
