This is in .308 NATO?
ReplyDeleteYup.
DeleteThag, you know I love you like a brother, right? But this is drifting towards Cain/Abel territory
DeleteWorked out OK for Cain...
DeleteISTR the Portuguese used these in their wars to try to keep their African colonies. I'd be curious to see how they stack up against the AR-15 in terms of reliability, ease of maintenance, and like that.
ReplyDeleteThe Portuguese Paratroopers kept them until they wore completely out. Parts kits from their guns tend to be smoothbores from the erosion. They liked them a lot!
DeleteAs far as I know there weren't any more complaints about reliability than they had with their m/961 (H&K G3) or m/962 (FN FAL).
Maintenance should be similar to the M16... In that if you perform it, the gun works.
Oh they have the classic charging handle! Be interesting to hear if it's as bad as everybody on the Internet says when I comment that they look cool.
ReplyDeleteIt's not too horrid based on playing with an AI gun once.
DeleteThe location isn't the problem, it getting fiendishly hot was what got me.
