Only Police Are Qualified To...

Own fake Glocks?

Wait...

Lemme quote this:

GLOCK has recently issued a New Contract with Ring's Manufacturing Inc. (BLUEGUNS) to manufacture GLOCK Blueguns as we have been doing for the past 10 years. This new contract states that GLOCK restricts the sale of GLOCK Blueguns to the Public. We are restricted to selling GLOCK Blueguns to the Police, Military, Trainers, Police Distributors, or Holster Manufacturers. We ask that our customers abide by these rules and refrain from offering GLOCK Blueguns to the Public on the Internet, Publications or General Catalogs. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your support.
What?

Can't have irresponsible and untrained civilians owning things that LOOK like Glocks, but buy all the real guns they want.

I...

I...

I don't get it.

Bear in mind, this is GLOCK making the demand, not Blue Guns.

  1. Hey Angus;

    Wonder if somebody at Glock is virtue signalling. Perhaps that they can make enough money off Police and military sales to offset the loss in civilian sales. I also have heard that the "glock" family are squabbling amongst themselves and probably causing problems with the upper management. Just a guess?

    Wrong. Very wrong. Civilian sales here is THE market. Gun makers tend to sell to police at about cost. There is no profit, it is mostly marketing to the public that drives police (and military, to some extent) type sales. This is not necessarily the case in other countries, as the US market is unique, especially for handguns. They make money on military sales, but not to the level of civilian sales, I think. They're not exactly equivalent to police sales, as there is a lot more involved in major government sales, like the previous Army issue Beretta.

    1. In support of your position, there's about five gun shops in the area who opened, offered a deep LEO discount, and closed...

      Almost as if selling to cops wasn't a profitable venture...
