This past week I finally understand why so many bloggers just stopped without saying goodbye.
I grok it in its fullness now.

You are a guest here when you comment. This is my soapbox, not yours. Be polite. Inappropriate comments will be deleted without mention. Amnesty period is expired.
Do not go off on a tangent, stay with the topic of the post. If I can't tell what your point is in the first couple of sentences I'm flushing it.
If you're trying to comment anonymously: You can't. Log into your Google account.
If you can't comprehend this, don't comment; because I'm going to moderate and mock you for wasting your time.
I have some insight, but I'm curious to hear yours, if you'd care to elucidate further.
ReplyDeleteYou might have noticed that you were making me a little angry about Ukraine. You were, by far, the least offensive person commenting. Which can be seen by your comments getting published.
DeleteHoly shit are both sides insane about this.
And their minds are solidly made up. There's nothing I can say that will shift their opinion and they sure as fuck want to make sure I know what that opinion is.
I try to color inside the lines, and apologize for any buttons I pushed.
DeleteBut appreciate the (third? fourth?) chance.
I try to disagree without becoming disagreeable.
But I wholly understand the Ukrainio-Rectal Impaction Syndrome. I suspect it might even be derpier on my blog than yours, which is why I save posts on it for when I just want the usual monkeys to lose their minds and exercise their poo-flinging arms, since that's what about 90% of the contributions amount to.
You may have spotted my recent link to both your recent (comment-blocked) posts on the topic.
FWIW, I have exactly zero to disagree with anything you said, and I'm not trying to back-door a comment here.
Just saying.
OT, I come here because you have a unique perspective on things, and I enjoy how you express it.
I understand if you stopped, or want to (we all have those days, I suspect), but I think the internet would be the poorer for the loss. Even when we don't see things exactly the same. What a boring world that would be.
Just my 2¢.
And thanks for getting back on this.
I'm not saying I'm quitting, I am saying I understand why people do.
