If someone shoots someone with a S&W 329, you know for a fact that it's self defense.
And you can call them "Lefty" afterwards.

.44 Mag in a small frame lightweight? What could possibly go wrong?
ReplyDeleteIs it worse than a 3" .410 shell in an American Derringer Model 4?
ReplyDeleteNo. But because it's more visually obviously a big bang that should have hurt the firer.
DeleteAmbulance Driver shot Jay's 360PD with some spicy .357 magnums and declared if he was mugged while carrying the gun, he would tell the attacker to desist or he would be forced to fire the gun.
ReplyDeleteStill, my LCR with the EXACT same hand loads is surprisingly mild, so maybe the bigger grip might make it less obnoxious, even for the handful that .44 mag is.
Also I know a TON of people who carry flyweight .357s with hot .38s, tho I SEE hot .38s everywhere, and defensive .44 mag everywhere.....but defensive .44 special is kinda thin on the ground.
I joked that it was light enough carry all day and fire twice. The hardwood grips with my pinky dangling didn't assist in the impression that this would be an easy gun to shoot.
