Race Day

Hung out at Lead Foot City hanging with the guy I bought The Beast from (and sold The Biscayne SS to).  He made three runs in my old car.  He's making it into an Olds sedan.

It's an 1/8th mile track, so things ran slower than I'm accustomed at a drag strip.

We spent over two hours waiting on them cleaning up after a Mustang who should have lifted and coasted when he broke loose.

  1. The two major drag racing accidents I know of around here in recent years were also Mustangs. They can be pretty twitchy and can get away from someone pretty quickly. To be fair one of the two down here was at a "no prep" event. Those have a lot more inherent risk of course. And to be fair, a lady put a C6 into the wall at one of our drag race events a few years ago. That was largely due to insufficient prep at the track (in Louisiana). Friends of mine who own the drag strip near me won't run if a track isn't prepped to their standards.
