But We're Not Jewish

On Christmas Eve, my family gets Chinese food.

Christmas day was a big meal at Grandma's; so we didn't cook on the eve.

It was years later that I found out that we were joining the Jewish people in an ancient tradition.

I've always found that amusing.

Jews have no religious reason to celebrate Christmas, but they have Christmas traditions.

But, then, Christmas is also a pagan thing.

In America, it's a secular tradition too.

So Merry Christmas!

  2. In Norwegian we say "Glaedlig Jul." That takes the religious element out of it and everybody can enjoy it.
