Because one side really believes this:
Exactly how many women have been arrested for having an abortion since Roe v Wade was overturned?
Exactly how many, of any kind, LGBTQ people have been jailed for simply being whom they are?
There's prolly something about illegal immigrants and racism in this "comic" too, but I am not liberal enough to parse the symbolism shown.
But the liberal side really does seem to think that with Trump back in office means tyranny and bigotry will reign.
Never mind the bigotry of showing a white man doing the oppressing in the illustration...
But it's OK to be bigoted against white men for... reasons... or something.
When you ask liberals what bad things really happend during Trump's previous term you usually get stuff that's just plain silly stupid wrong, obvious lies, or incomprehensible whinging. I've yet to hear anything that sounded legit. When asked what they think the next 4 years will be it is even more delusional. Many of them actually believe Trump is LITERALLY Hitler. Like on day 1 the trains to concentration camps and mass genocide is going to start. And of course a whole lot of them support people who are legitimately terrorists and would gladly round up anyone wearing a MAGA hat and send them to the gas chambers themselves. It's projection. Their heroes Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc., are what they want. Political violence mostly comes from the left.

A while ago, on another Blog, I got into a protracted argument with some leftist jackwagon about political violence.
DeleteHe'd bring up something, I'd stonk on it by pointing out, yeah, it's leftists.
He finally shut up when I listed all of the political assassinations in the United States since the Constitution was signed. Surprisingly (not) there were no evil right-wingers amongst the assassins.
But, yeah, we're the violent ones.
Of course it could be due to Hollyweird, as they've been screaming 'evil right wing white racist militias' since the 80's. Even to the point that the reboot of SWAT features 'ERWWRM's as the main problem in Los Angeles.
We had a big IT/Education conference here in Texas in Oct and one of the presenters stated that there were a number of "potential attendees" who did not come to Texas due to fears about not having easy access to an abortion... So, someone currently pregnant who decides to travel (seems like risky behavior) and then for some reason decides to have or has a medical emergency requiring an abortion? Seems like a SUPER small demographic but it was presented as "SO MANY" people just could not come to Texas... But, I'm just an IT guy, what would I know... And of course now that fear is that it is a nationwide far right Christian regime from day one? Seems unlikely, but apparently now it is no longer illegal to question the results of an election :-)
ReplyDeleteFrom the Left's viewpoint two significant things occurred, both self inflicted. Ginsburg arrogantly assumed Clinton would win in 2016 and died during Trump's term, allowing Barrett to be confirmed in time to overturn Roe, which was bad law anyway. This was also an own goal by liberals too chickenshit to pass a federal abortion law during the Carter administration, or Clinton or Obama when they had majorities in Congress
