Rarity?

According to A Collector's Guide To The Savage Model 99 Rifle, "In the early 1950's, some of the EGs in the 600,000 serial number range had case-hardened steel rotors."

Mine is a 1951 model in the 600k range with a steel rotor.


Normally this part is brass.

This is an interesting development!
