While we're talking about it...
Hardly anyone is killed by a cop (990 in 2015 and mostly white people).
Hardly any cops are murdered. 129 died in the line of duty in 2015, 55 to some sort of assault (maybe not all murder).
The numbers are almost small enough to be statistical noise.
Sure, if it's YOUR anyone or YOUR cop, it's big news. On a national scale with 300 plus million people going about their lives, it's machts nichts.
To the
14,429 people were murdered in the US in 2014. So 14,374 people who aren't cops.
What are the rates?
There are over 900,000 sworn officers in the US. So the attacked and killed rate is less than 6.11 per 100,000.
There are 318.9 million people in the US. So the murder rate is 4.52 per 100,000. The killed by the cops rate is 0.31 per 100,000.
We've a shit load more to fear from our fellow citizens than we do the cops. Even if we don't like or trust the government.
This is a liberal biased organization's analysis of FBI numbers. They try to sugar coat things and present the numbers in a way that most supports their political agenda, but even then, to the point that BLM should be more interested in black-on-black murders... according to this article 93% of blacks who are murdered are murdered by other blacks. That number falls to 84% of whites being killed by other whites. And one thing the article neglects to mention because it is inconvenient for their talking points is that African Americans make up only about 12% of the US population compared to 17% hispanic and 63% caucasian (and roughly 8% all other races). What they don't want people to hear is that if African Americans were the majority the number of blacks murdered by non-blacks could easily be surmised by the numbers to drop to nearly zero.

Also if you account for non-gang related murders, there's essentially no murder in the US.
DeleteCriminal on criminal violence is the norm as well.
Another fact which is embarrasing to a lot of liberals is that around 1/2 of all murders in the US are committed by African Americans (somewhere between 7000 to 8000 typically). If you remove those numbers the US goes down the list of murder rates to where it compares favorably to many European countries, even though most of them have strict gun control laws compared to the US. Even if you adjust the US's population figures to only non-blacks and remove only the black on black murder numbers the US's rate still becomes comparable to European rates which sheds a lot of doubt on whether America's "gun culture" or even our "culture of violence" is the easy explanation to our problems that the liberals would like them to be.
