For about a week we've watched some pretty impressive thunderstorms get almost to us or go right past us.
The lightning is pretty though.

Lightning can be very pretty to watch, from a respectful distance. Although the one time I was within a few (<20) feet of a strike, that was pretty amazing to see, too.
ReplyDeleteAfter studying lightning protection at work for a long time, I came to think anyone who isn't a little afraid of lightning just doesn't understand the problem.
< 20 feet? Yoikes! Much too close for comfort! I bet it made the hair on your arms stand up! Could you feel the heat near where it struck? Smell the ozone in the air?
