I was curious about how the breech ring worked on the Model 12.
The barrel and chamber clamp down against the breeching ring, and the ring is between the barrel and the shell's rim.
Headspacing is provided by this ring.
With the bolt holding it in place, you could, in theory, fire this round.
I think that would be a little messy. I shan't make the attempt.
