Found this charming fellow in my backyard.
He was resolutely unafraid of me, even when I got in close to get a shot of his head.
Rat snakes are good-life.

I've owned yellow rat snakes several times in my life, they're more common than the Black Rat in Florida. I've never had a rat snake bite me, even when first captured - - basically, if you're gentle, you can pick them up without getting bitten. King Snakes are a different matter, however, being rather nippy.
