The officer in question has been arrested for voluntary manslaughter after her performance in the linked video. (You'll probably have to actually go to YouTube to see it).
The family is suing, and the officer has two previous terminations for using poor judgement.
The best two word summary of having this person as a police officer is "Fatty McQuotahire".
I am old enough to remember when there were physical requirements for being a cop, especially one on patrol duty.
I sometimes think that the fall of law enforcement is tied to changing the rules to make it possible for someone like the officer above to do the job at all.
The only thing a person of that physical preparedness can do to stop an assault is to shoot. You might have noticed the disappearance of night-sticks from the law enforcement arsenal.
Rodney King aside, you've got to have some muscles and skill to use one. She lacks the former for certain.
otards goal was to federalize the police forces of US...part of everything going on is part of that plan...eventually some of these cities will need help and guess who will step in and "help"...yep...the gene pool of quality applicants has shrunk dramatically for a number of reasons...they have demonized the job to the point no one wants to be an officer any more...not people with a half a brain anyway...and officers in general aren't helping by some of the stupid shit they do/don't do...panzer guy
ReplyDeleteLots of fail there. Dumb perp for trying to flee from police. Probably had warrants. Probably not a "good guy"... BUUUUT... Really bad "police work". In bad shape or not, it shouldn't have been hard to take that guy into custody safely. Just hold him until backup got there. So I don't really have a lot of sympathy for anyone involved. Maybe that means I am a bad person. It will be interesting to see how it works out in court given all the demographics. In any case I hope the perp's family (can't really call him a victim really) gets nothing. I hope the officer at least gets fired and never wears a badge again.
ReplyDeleteThis puts me very much in mind of the Lionel Tate case, years ago. Another "quota hire" had a son who was bad enough news that he was given a life sentence(!!!) at age 12, for killing a little girl "trying out wrestling moves." After an uproar, the little slime was set free...and ended up robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint, so back to the slammer he went, and back in the slammer he'll be till he's old and gray. His "momma" was a Florida State Policewoman, and had "lost" another gun mysteriously before her "good boy" was caught showing that his original sentence was well-deserved. Last I looked, she's still on the force. I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago I saw an article about police officers who were in jail for killing people unnecessarily... at the time, the only officers in jail for it were in SC and Texas.
