I'm getting internet in dribs and drabs last few days.
The ice cream is still free, there's just not as much flowing out from my keyboard.
I think it's just my house, the 'Rents and Marv appear to be unaffected.
Chrome works a bit better than Firefox, which doesn't help on the Ubuntu machine.
Until the issue disappears as suddenly as it appeared, you're definitely getting what you're paying for here.
Check the cable (I assume you are on Commiecast) from the pole to your house. Disconnect and clean/dry out any connection you can reach to see if it fixes the problem. Recently we have had several folks near me (Michigan) with this same issue. Turns out moisture got into the coax and does funny things at the elevated frequency these things operate at nowadays. They replaced the cable free of charge.
ReplyDeleteWe are not on Commiecast! Thank my numerous Gods!
DeleteI suspect that the issue was not noticed by everyone else rather than not existing for them.
Glad you found the culprit. Yeah, I would dump Commiecast instantly if there was a decent alternate out there and I don't want any dish type or DSL, so we are SOL until someone expands the optical fiber network into our region. Sigh!
