Baffling

There's gunborker seller in Colorado who's got two SKS's listed.

One's a Norinco, the other is a beat to shit Yugo. (Links will be dead after a few months).

Both them are:

LE/MILITARY PURCHASE ONLY
You must provide LE/Military Credentials at time of purchase.
You must be one of the following:
Sworn LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) State, County, or Local
Federal LEO - F.B.I, US Marshal, DEA, DHS, et cetera
Corrections Officers, including Parole and Probation Officers
Retired LEO with “retired” credentials including Federal, State, County and Local
State Licensed Security Companies and State/City Licensed Security Officers
Federal Flight Deck Officers
Court Judges, District Attorneys and Deputy District Attorneys
First responders including firefighters and rescue personnel with appropriate I.D. and letterhead with verification of duty purpose
Military: Active, Retired, Active-Reserve. Active - Nat’l Guard

There's not a whit of explanation as to WHY they're not for sale to those untainted by government employment.

They sell AR's to the unwashed, so it's baffling.

  1. As far as I know there is no legal requirement for them to be so restrictive. Your point that they sell ARs to non-LE/.mil is a good one. In most states that have AWBs it is ARs that are restricted and SKSs usually aren't since they come with a 10 round non-removable (without a tool) magazine. I wonder if they aren't confused somewhere by 922r or confused because these include bayonets (perfectly legal on a pre-ban Norinco or on a Yugo). Or possibly they are just confused in general or are major LE/.mil sycophants? I dunno... makes no sense. I'd send them a message asking why except I'm sure if i got a answer back it would be hostile like most a-hole sellers... I asked one seller who had a top break revolver I liked why he wouldn't ship to a C&R FFL03 holder on firearm that was obviously C&R eligible... the response I got was basically "you gawdamned C&R people are all shady and trying to circumvent the law and put us poor dealers out of business so F off".

  2. I got an answer from them. Part of the purchase deal they made was that they only be sold to LEO.

I think Willard has retired LEO papers...
