The Assault Victim Is Home

Marv is now known to the local medical professionals as, "the turtle guy".

It was a comminuted break of the left humerus.

We think he might have rolled over the damn tortoise to get the break to go like it did.

He's got metal parts holding it together and has a plan to follow to recovery.

Plus good friends to help him out.

  1. And good friends to remind him, forever, of turtling up.

Glad he's home. Does he have people at his house who can take care of the little things for him?

    1. We're 400' away as the crow flies. Literally a phonecall away. Plus, if he stops responding to texts, I have keys to check on him.

  2. Make sure he does the rehab. As in, make REALLY sure he does the rehab - all of it.

I busted up a shoulder and needed plates inserted to stabilise a comminuted break.
I admit, I skimped a little on the post-op exercises.

Then, my wife decided that the ceiling needed painting.

I got all the exercise that I should have done post-op in three days. Hurt like hell, but resolved all the movement restrictions that I was deluding myself into believing were normal.

  3. As long as I'm assured that the pain of rehab is not causing further damage I think I can go through with it. I might be talking tough but I plan to go as quickly as they'll let me.
