Worst Of Both Worlds?

I have a genuine Holden stereo coming for The Beast.

One feature listed is a "15 CD hard drive".

I didn't know what that was, and forgot to ask before it was already shipped.

A drive that holds 15 CD's worth of mp3's is a decent feature.

A drive that rips 15 CD-A formatted discs...   It's OK, I guess.

That's many fewer songs than other formats.

With the iPod and aux inputs, though, I can see never using it.

  1. Have to admit I am liking the CD drive on my "new" vehicle (is a 2015, new to me) that can take a CD with MP3's on it so I can have hours of music on a disk from my extensive collection of MP3s... No worries about changing disks within the player at least. Were I buying a different system something with a car reader would be perfect to just throw in a card...

  2. The Kenwood head unit I have in my C4 has a front USB jack. A 32GB USB stick will hold several thousand typical MP3s which is an ample source of music for mobile entertainment. I think I need to order a similar unit for the little red Colorado.

  4. The radio with the "15CD Hard Drive" also has the port and cabling for a 3.5mm headphone input AND a USB port. I know that port will run an iPod, it might also accept a thumb drive.

There's also bluetooth input from my phone.

The port in Moxie will not take a thumb drive.

  5. That 15CD hard drive just means 10gb.

I bought a Bluetooth audio connector for my truck. Takes power from the 12v supply port, has the headphone jack.

I get in the truck, phone links up. I get 1000s of hours of music from Google and my own collection plus audio navigation.

If I wanted it will do hands free as well

Don't get the style that charges, they have of on switches that are easy to forget
