If you're going to compare the old Hi Power to the new High Power, and you're getting paid to do so, you'd know that to line up the slide stop for reassembly on the old HP you just lock the slide to the rear with the safety rather than holding your tongue just right and hoping you get it lined up.
Shit like this is why so many people are cynical about gunwriters.
Oh, who stepped on their clip magazine this time?
ReplyDeleteIt really is a shame that none the gun mags have the intelligence to recognize real gun writing talent... There has always seemed to be some kind of cabal with the magazines which prevented anyone who wasn't an "insider" somehow from getting recognized. Sure, there have always been a few exceptions (sadly most of whom are deceased), but there always seemed to be a lot more hacks than not in the publishing business.
ReplyDeleteThe person in question started out by blogging their interest in firearms and experiences shooting and carrying.
DeleteIt's been interesting watching them go from outsider to full blown cliched gunwriter.
I wish you at least got the opportunity to collect the paychecks to see if that'd happen...
DeleteI have an older hi power , 1968 version or 1969, if i could get the safety to work a little easier i would openly carry it every day. I need someone to add that safety fast shooting modification to it, because i do not feel like i can carry out that installation correctly.
