Something Silly I Noticed

Every three digit number of repeating digits is divisible by three.

111/3 = 37

222/3 = 74

333/3 = 111

444/3 = 148

555/3 = 185

666/3 = 222

777/3 = 259

888/3 = 296

and

999/3 = 333.

This is right up there with noticing that 45+78 = 123 back when I was a kid.

  1. So "222" is one-third of the Beast? That explains that stupid show!

  2. If you add all the digit in any whole number and this sum is divisible by three then the number is divisible by three. EV 135 sum is 9, 135/3 = 45.

    1. Corollary—If the sum of the digits is divisible by 9, then the number is divisible by nine.
