When I read posts saying, "I am buying a 1911," I notice that everyone assumes the poster means something in .45 ACP.
But that's not always true.
Since 1929 1911 can also mean .38 Super. Arguably superior to .45 when it comes to slaying bowling pins.
That Colt is one of my most favorite pistols.

A buddy had one in 9mm for reasons I did not understand but I have to say it was fun to shoot.
