The mini-fig head stuck on the end of his tail just didn't look like a rattle.
Here's my second attempt.
I've also changed over to an M16 since the character properly carries a rifle not a GPMG. I've got a more FAL looking Brickarms gun coming. Cheap and addictive this is!
