And They Once Had It Perfected

Watching Indy.

The coverage of the race is miserable.

I want to watch the race.

I can't do that with tight focus on a single car at a time and relaying, essentially, the same shot from camera to camera.

All I can really see is that a particular car is running.

It's sad because ABC's Wide World of Sports used to have the very best roundy-round racing coverage.  You could get a sense of what was going on in the overall race, even last place, and they only got in tight when there was something to see while you were in there.

The color commentary is... is...  Well, I have it muted.

    Monaco coverage seems much better and it's on ABC as well.

  3. From Indy to Formula to Nascar the coverage is the same, dismal. I don't care much for drag racing but at least there is some drama and it gets talked up.
