Riddle Me This

If Independence Day is a white, racist, holiday:

Why did we see so many black people at the fireworks stands?

Why did they happily wish our white asses a "happy independence day" or "happy July 4th"?

It's almost as if someone is lying about racism in America.

Again.

    I would never say that racism doesn't exist. But is it anywhere near the pervasive, systematic level that some people want to believe? I don't think so. There are too many successful black people, and conversely, there are plenty of white and Hispanic people who are less prosperous. The truth is there is a lot more going on and things are more complex. Blaming everything on racism is counter productive and is not working towards making thing better for everyone. If anything it is actually working backwards to divide people.
