As a proud owner of multiple Mk IIIs that had (the now defunct) Robar Co perform their "treatment" to mine, I have been scratching my head as to why the BHP wasn't "updated" by Browning for the CCW market!!! I thought that the a 1911/2011 in 9MM for daily carry was a solution in search of a problem, but hey, different strokes and all that. I totally get the competition market....completely different purpose and market (carry on!).
Granted, a +/- 4.5lb trigger in a 1911/2011 is going to be "crisper" than a BHP trigger, but once the mag safety is removed the BHP is perfectly suitable for daily carry, even w/out a trigger job.
The BHP is a dream to carry IWB while wearing dress slacks and/or a suite for business attire......ask me how I know. With a quality belt/holster combo, the slim profile of the slide makes the gun practically disappear in your wardrobe, and if wearing jeans, you'll forget you're carrying after a few hours!
Shooting: it's like using your hand/forefinger as gun like you're a 10yr old again. Best pistol for one-handed shooting I own (YMMV).
IMHO: slim tactical thumb safety, remove mag safety (by a quality gunsmith, preferably), tritium night sights and go. Optional: MecGar 15 rd magazines...you're really only -2 rds from a G19. From there....ammo, training, & range time!
Unfortunately, however, thanks to Browning discontinuing production of the Mk III 9MM, mine have become "safe queens" that get carried on special occasions. I debate carrying on a daily basis....unless the sport coat, slacks, or suite are the required uniform of the day.....
