Happy Thoughts

Just sifting through my pictures and stumbled across this one.

These are things I got from my grampa.

They are priceless to me, even if they've little value to anyone else.

  1. I have an H&R top break in .32 S&W Long that looks very similar to that one. One of my favorite top breaks. I actually used to carry it quite a bit a few years ago. One of the firearms I got passed down from my Dad a few years ago, and in turn from my Grandpa was Great Grandpa's H&R top break in .32 S&W. That one has a lot more sentimental value although it isn't at all practical due to the fact that it is one of the earlier ones designed for BP cartridges so it really isn't a good idea to fire it with modern commercial smokeless ammo. .Of course 32 S&W is pretty weak too, even with modern ammo. .32 S&W Long is a little better, albeit still not considered by most people "adequate" for carry use. I carried the .32 S&W Long one because it was just very comfortable, relatively compact, not too heavy and easily concealed. I would probably not carry my Grandpa's .32 just because it is a family heirloom.
