Performing My Civic Duty

Got there just before the lunch rush.  No waiting.

Harvey went with her pa right as the polls opened and she found out that we're the second biggest district in Pasco after Dade City.  We've ballooned from 4,000 voters to 7,500 in just four years!

Despite many fears, we appear to be getting redder not purpler.

  1. Glad to hear the Red are showing up to vote. Was afraid the Red Team would get lazy and complacent. Got to follow through.

Down where I am (deep south Texas), our district is solid Blue (80% more or less) but this year, due to current Administration lack of attention to running the country, there is actually a shot at a Red win or two in our district. Illegal border crossers also didn't help the Blue team - big issue here. If that Nu Yawk mayor came down to see what the numbers of illegals are like here, he might not complain so much.

  2. My precinct here in Travis County went about 75% for "Robbie the fake Mexican" aka Robert Francis O'Rourke. However statewide that didn't help him and Governor Abbott was re-elected by about an 11% margin, bigger than Butthead Beto's loss to Ted Cruz was. I wish I could say he is done after his 4th defeat in a row (he lost his seat in Congress, then lost to Cruz for Senate, then bowed out of a Presidential run, now lost for Governor). But he's pocketed millions of leftover campaign money and he paid a ton to family and friends too... So it seems like running for office is his job and he's probably not ready to retire yet until the donations (mostly from wealthy socialists from outside of Texas) don't come in.

  3. Things went pretty well in Iowa, too. Not only did that one black sheep district finally get rid of their (shudder) Democrat in the House, we also got (by about 64% vs. 35% as of last preliminary count) a constitutional amendment that not only recognizes the right to keep and bear arms, but decrees that restrictions on that right are subject to strict scrutiny.

    2. Yeah, just like they hated losing their mask mandates. Good times.
