Things are getting strange out there in "retro" AR land.
That upper receiver is worth $400.
I paid $150 for it in 2008.
Apparently, nobody is making them any more.
The vintage uppers and furniture I got for $500 each for Roberta and Charlotte are running $2,000+ each now.
Wow.
I am so unused to things I buy becoming more valuable rather than depreciating.
If that's a basic A2 (I'm not entirely up on post-A1 carry-handle uppers), H&R has those in the works (as well as C7s). As well, a very few companies are still making them - I want to say Luth-AR just dropped some in November, and E2 Armory keeps popping up. (E2 has an ugly etched/coated logo, however.)
ReplyDeleteH&R and Luth have been selling at reasonable prices (H&R is still at the old Nodak prices :D ), but if you hit GunBorker people are asking the moon... and *getting* if from desperate idiots infected with FOMO and lack-of-patience.
200 H&R lowers (mix of A1s, "Commando"-marked partial fence E1s and 25 lonely A1-marked partial-fence "oopsies") will be dropping this week, according to Mike. 200 assorted uppers, A1 forward assiast and slickside, should be back from ano and up for sale in the next couple weeks.
It's a basic A2 upper. Not sure there was anything but the basic A2 upper because the flat-top supplanted it handily when the AWB expired.
DeleteI took some pictures of the various uppers 11 years ago!

ReplyDeleteWhen I moved to Texas and had to pack up and move all of my old C&R firearms I collected back in the late 90's I had a bit of time and checked some of the prices... Have to say I was not expecting my collection to have appreciated THAT much...
