This years anal probe will include an extra-long probe that will check my esophagus as well.
Or two separate probes, one from each end.
I hope they wash it after having it up my rear...
I made the mistake of admitting that, sometimes, I have trouble swallowing my multi-vitamin.
Also learned today:
Once you're on a cane, you are marked "fall risk" forever.
Trouble swallowing large capsules or tablets can be a sign of dry throat, or fatty throat. Either one is a sign of getting old. Sucks, but beats being dead.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the colon prep.
that or acid reflux has eaten some of the esophagus...just had an endo and that's what happened to me...i displayed my last colon pics in my office for a bit...my boss asked me what it was so i told him...i said it's a conversation starter or a conversation ender...i need help...panzer guy
DeleteJust to be safe, ask for the 'top entry' procedure 1st.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are not on blood thinners. Before my colonoscopy, I had to stop taking the pill, replacing with shots given to stomach 4 times a day the previous 5 days of procedure. I elected to give the shots myself rather than a nurse administering them - my gut looked like a 4th of July image. Not fun at all. After the procedure, my INR blood test was BAD - took two more visits to get it balanced. Could have stroked out - no wonder colonoscopy doctor asked for full payment the day of procedure.
I did not know that fall risk judgement - thanks for letting us know.

Yea, I’m going for that double probe myself soon. I have three same concerns about which camera goes where.
ReplyDeleteI only have to have the rear end scoped... That's bad enough. I'm actually a bit overdue for it, I keep forgetting to get it scheduled. -swj
ReplyDeleteCheer up:
ReplyDeleteEvery one who enters the ER, by official decree, for any reason whatsoever, is a "fall risk".
No exceptions.
