Today is one of my favorite days of the year!
Just to toot my own horn, my house is a "must" on beggar's night.
We stopped buying candy because The Boy can't have it; so we changed over to giving out cute little toys.
The toys are, and have been, a huge hit.

I've been offering the kids a choice between candy and a small toy for about 3 or 4 years. The toys I pick up at yardsales in baggies, like Happy Meal toys, or small plastic animals, or hat wheels. About one third of the kids pick a toy. They know they're gonna get lots of other candy.
