To get the tank out... The Precious needs to be 16-20" in the air at the tank.
That means raising it up in stages.
It gets increasingly precarious as you get higher.
Then the damned exhaust has to come out.
Now you can wrestle with the crossover by braille.
Now you can disconnect the evap by braille.
Then you can lower the tank to see if you can see where that gas smell has been coming from.
I'm spent.
I'm sick of the large number of steps to do get prepared to start working on the broken part.
I'm growing to hate this car so much.

Just saying- if you had a pick-up.
ReplyDeleteAll you'd have to do is completely undo the bed bolts on the tank side and almost undo the bolts on the passenger frame.
Then lift/slide/twist the bed for access to the tank top.
